The Lower East Side reveals itself
Last night, with a government media officer and a crew of bubbly Russians, Y and I met the lower east side that gets talked about.
Underground bars themed as vampire lairs. Blaring music and fallout shelter interior decoration. Bikini-clad gogo dancers shocking the wintry sidewalks.
All this time, it has been bubbling along just off Delancey Street, right under our noses, long into the night.
