I’ve been experimenting with drugs. This one has all the fun of being OFF meds, but you’re going ON something.

A friend’s much-loved handset.
I moved from RIM to Android in 2011, but gave up on them today. I was a proud BlackBerry evangelist - Canadian technology, robust, trusted by government, easy to type on. I forgave them for screwing up the tablet line (should have been a business machine, not a Playbook). I wanted the new Bold, as they finally combined touch and their great keyboard (I don’t accept the Torch was serious).
But then I remembered my apps and thought of the BlackBerry app marketplace. No contest.
Went to some Social Media Week panels last week (this one was here). The panels I saw (and a few I LiveStreamed afterwards - wonderful feature!) were not very interesting. Same things the speakers had said/posted/tweeted before, and no compelling discussion. I think I missed the point - perhaps these talks were organised for their messages to reach people other than their usual audience.
This architecture firm decided that they are too cool for signs legible to humans and instead posted a single letter page with a QR code on it (seen on far left end of glass).
Big beautiful space, bland outcome. I’d hoped it was a promising startup, a coworking space or some exciting social entrepreneurship venture. Nope. Hipster architects.
Saw some over-the-top Game of Thrones S2 promo in Chinatown last weekend. It doesn’t even return til April!
